Jared Rubinstein, recent FCAS, experienced consultant and in-house actuary for a major insurance company, is our newest developer for ALL 10’s e-Review component featuring practice exam problems for CAS Exam 6.
Noting that there is a “specific art to answering CAS short answer questions” Jared plans to employ aspects of our R.A.C.E. strategy in his question development to “help give [candidates] just the right amount of information to earn maximum points on a question without sacrificing valuable time.” Jared observes: “Say too little and you won’t get full credit for the question. Say too much and you’re burning valuable time that could be spent getting points on other questions.”
He goes on to note that “e-Review gives students a more flexible way to practice exam-taking skills without needing to set aside a 4-hour block of time.” Designed to help you answer the questions, “What should you review?” and “What do you need to review?” e-Review’s series of tests featuring our interactive instruct-solve-compare process, is an independent, customizable final review study module. Jared explains that “students can either tackle an entire e-Review session all at once or they can break it down into smaller separate pieces. Each session focuses on a sub-section of the syllabus so that you don’t need to wait till after you have studied the entire syllabus before you get down to really practicing the critical step of applying syllabus knowledge to exam conditions.”
Having successfully navigated the exam process, Jared’s experience and knowledge will expertly inform the questions he produces for Exam 6 study. Ultimately, as he observes of e-Review: “The questions look and feel like authentic CAS exam questions so that you feel very familiar with what you will be asked and what a top-scoring response looks like by the time the real exam comes around.”
